Here are the stories we've selected to get you going today:

  1. Renaming the downtown Boulder Post Office: Boulder attorney Darren O'Connor, Esq. penned an op-ed about Rep. Joe Neguse's recently introduced bill in the U.S. House of Representatives, which proposes to rename the 15th Street Post Office after Boulder Police Officer Eric Talley. (Westword)
  2. Boulder County commissioners seeking public input: Boulder County will receive about $63.36 million for its share of the federal COVID-19 recovery funds. Join a call on Thursday night as the Commissioners host a virtual town hall meeting focused on how the county might spend the dough. (Daily Camera)
  3. Sneak a peek at what your neighbor sold their house for. With housing prices going crazy these days, I imagine you'll find this list of real estate transactions interesting- the list includes all recently sold real estate in Boulder County. (Daily Camera)
  4. Aurora Mayor says homeless situation akin to the "hippie" movement: As a kid growing up in Boulder, I'd say it is pretty crazy to compare what's happening in the metro area with our unhoused neighbors – to what was happening in the 1970s – but, coming from someone like Mayor Coffman, are you surprised? (Colorado Times Recorder)
  5. Caught on Camera: A mountain lion was on the prowl in Niwot the other day. This story includes a list of things to do in case you have a run-in with one of these cute and cuddly cougars. (FOX 31)

This Boulder Daily newsletter (and pretty much every one to follow) is dedicated to my long time friend, Jim Burrus – one of Boulder's real news men. He'll be my guide in this project, as I dig into what's happening in Boulder – in the same vein that we did when we worked together at the Boulder Planet back in the 1990s. Even though he departed this world in 2020, his impact on me, and on Boulder, is still alive and well today. Hope you'll follow along and help us make the connections to what's going on in Boulder. Would you mind inviting your friends and neighbors to read along – you can send them this link to subscribe. — Brad K. Evans
