- Thieves make off with $10,000 in food and beer from Back Country Pizza. Police are searching for the individuals that stole thousands of dollars' worth of food and beer Backcountry Pizza and Tap House on Jan. 7. (KDVR)
- Meth residue found in bathrooms at downtown RTD station bathrooms. RTD has closed restrooms in the transit facility in downtown Boulder after it was confirmed that residues of of methamphetamine was found in both restrooms and an adjacent hallway. (Yahoo!)
- State representative resigns at start of legislative session after being accused of felonious acts. Colorado State Rep. Tracey Bernett has resigned her seat after being charged last November of forgery, attempting to influence a public servant and providing false information about a residence. (Journal Advocate)
- Bail set for man accused of stabbing bookstore manager. Scott Schwelling is accused of stabbing a Barnes & Noble manager and is being held on a $100,000 secured bond. Schwelling faces a felony first-degree assault charge after allegedly stealing a bag of candy from the bookstore. (FOX 31)
- What causes the brown cloud? Scientists reveal that Denver's infamous brown cloud is caused by the reality of metro Denver being at the foot of the Rocky Mountains which makes it prone to temperature inversions. That's when warm air traps cooler air near the ground and prevents pollution from rising up into the atmosphere. (9News)
