Sex Assault Suspect Still Sought By Boulder Police

Boulder police released a surveillance image of a man who allegedly attempted to push a woman into an SUV and sexually assault her.

BOULDER, CO -- Boulder police asked the public's help to identify a man wanted for questioning in the attempted sexual assault of a woman. Police hope someone will recognize a photo of the alleged attacker in the the incident which happened in the early morning hours of Jan. 20 near the area of 11th and Spruce streets.

Police said a woman contacted them Jan. 22 and reported she was in the area when an "an unknown man forced her into a car and attempted to sexually assault her. She was able to escape and run from the car. The vehicle was a large SUV or similar make with two-tone leather seats," a statement from police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, 18 to 25 years old, 5’10” to 6’ tall with a thin build. He had brown facial hair and was wearing a red hat, blue shirt and white pants at the time of the assault. He had very straight teeth and large eyes. The victim said he wore very strong cologne, may have had an east coast accent and seemed well educated, police said in a statement.

Those who have information but wish to remain anonymous may contact the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted through the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimeshurt.com. Those submitting tips through Crime Stoppers that lead to the arrest and filing of charges on a suspect(s) may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers.
