Sex Predator Housing: City of Boulder To Explore Options
Working group of law enforcement and community members to recommend housing solutions and restrictions.

From The City of Boulder: The City of Boulder is accepting applications for a community working group to address housing for sexually violent predators. The working group, consisting of law enforcement and community members, will study the issue and make recommendations to City Council about potential housing solutions and other restrictions.
In 2017, four individuals classified by the state as sexually violent predators established temporary housing at the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless. As a result of community action and council urging, the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless has proposed a revision to its management plan to restrict the number of sexually violent predators housed at the shelter to one person who is not on parole and who has no other housing option.
Applications for the 10-member working group should be sent to City Manager Jane Brautigam at brautigamj@bouldercolorado.gov by Jan. 3, 2018. Applicants should be committed to developing an understanding of the issues and facts regarding sexually violent predators and examining solutions based upon the information received as a member of the working group. Letters of interest should include relevant experience, reasons for interest in serving, and preferred availability to attend working group meetings. The working group is expected to meet four times between January and March 2018, and present a report to council in the second quarter of 2018.
The working group will consist of:
