Here are the top stories today in Boulder:
- Victims and families of those killed in last year's shooting at King Soopers are frustrated that they still don't know why it happened or when the case will go to trial. The individual accused of killing 10 people at the Table Mesa King Soopers is still not competent to proceed in a criminal trial. No story has emerged yet as to why the store was targeted by the shooter, but a judge indicated that Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa will eventually be able to stand trial for the murders. (CPR)
- One item on this November's ballot is about who will control the future and the funding for a newly created library district. Ballot measure 6C would fund the creation of a new special district that would take over management of some of the county's libraries with an independent board of trustees. (CU Independent)
- Are you ready for the Colorado ski season? While Arapahoe Basin is typically the mountain that opens first, every year there is tons of anticipation for front rangers to hit the slopes at their favorite resort. Here's the list of opening dates for most of Colorado's ski areas for the 2022-2023 season. (Uncover CO)
- Customer finds an ash-filled urn at an Aurora carwash. Matt Bergman, the owner of Happy Henry's Car Wash, was out of town when the urn was left behind but did retrieve a video of a white male in a reddish Pontiac with no front license plate leaving it behind. Aurora Police were dispatched and took the item into evidence. (Patch)
- Colorado's minimum wage set to increase this coming January. Colorado's minimum wage will increase by nearly a dollar per hour as part of a constitutional amendment that was passed by voters in 2017, which required the state to have minimum wage to $12 per hour by 2020. After that, the minimum wage is indexed to the federal Consumer Price Index (CPI), and beginning in January, the hourly minimum will be $13.65. (North Forty News)
