Skier Dies After Crashing Into Tree At Eldora Mountain Resort
A man has died after a ski accident on Eldora Mountain, officials said.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — A skier died Thursday after he crashed on Eldora Mountain, officials said.
A man in his 50s was skiing very fast on the steep Corona Run, when he fell and slid into a tree, according to witnesses.
A medical helicopter was requested, but it was not able to land in the ski area due to high winds in the area, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said.

A North Colorado MedEvac pilot made a second attempt to land at Nederland High School, and then a third attempt at Barker Reservoir, officials said. Due to the strong winds and the multiple attempts made to land, the helicopter ran low on fuel and had to return to its base.
Ski patrol took the man to an ambulance, and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.

The sheriff's office and Boulder County Coroner’s Office were investigating.
The cause and manner of the man's death and his identity will be released by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office once his next of kin have been notified, officials said.
