Stuck Climbers Rescued On Redgarden Wall: Boulder Co. Sheriff

The pair was climbing the Rupert route on the Redgarden Wall when they attempted to rappel down and got stuck.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — A pair of climbers were rescued Saturday night after they became stuck when they attempted to descend the Redgarden Wall in Eldorado Canyon State Park, located in unincorporated Boulder County.

The incident happened at about 11 p.m. Saturday, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. A male and female in their mid-20s were climbing the Rupert route on the Redgarden Wall, and as they began their descent, they attempted to rappel down but their rope had become stuck.

Rescue personnel arrived on scene and located the climbers. After a four-hour rescue operation, rescue personnel were able to get to the stuck climbers and assist them back down to the trailhead. Other than being cold and tired, the climbers were uninjured.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the rescue by the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
