Trespasser May Have Used Key To Enter Boulder Apartment: Police

Boulder police said a strange man entered a Boulder woman's residence around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

BOULDER, CO –Boulder police are providing extra patrols in the residential areas around the 1800 block of 22nd Street, after a woman reported a strange man in her home early Tuesday morning.

About 3 a.m., a woman awoke in her home to find "a man shining a flashlight into her face," police said in a press release Tuesday. The man uttered an apology and fled on foot, police said, but the woman told investigators she got the impression he believed the home to be vacant. She also thought the intruder had possibly found a spare key that was hidden outside.

Nothing was taken from the apartment, but police reported that the man left trash behind. The woman told police she was not able to identify the intruder.
