- Asking who is using using western water is messy. Only 14 percent of the water that flows from the west's mountain tops is used in residential, commercial, and industrial water use. The rest of the 86 percent, is spent mostly on agricultural uses. (VOX)
- Chemicals will help boost recycling plastics in the future. Researchers at CU Boulder believe that someday plastics will be able to be chemically broken down and reformed into the same types of material again. (CU Today)
- Pearl Izumi plans to cuts staff and sell off Louisville headquarters. Only a few months after being bought by California-based United Sports Brands, Pearl Izumi is laying off staff and has announced plans to sell its Louisville headquarters building. (Subscription/BusinessDen)
- Boulder County takes step forward to build Boulder to Lyons bike lane. Cycling advocates have long been lobbying for the creation of a bicycle path from Boulder, which is considered to be one of the county's most dangerous roads for cyclists. (Reporting Lab)
- Ending the cycle of make-take-waste. Arcteryx's store in downtown Boulder is focused on traditional retail, but it also includes a repair station that hopes will help shift toward a more circular and sustainable economic model, which includes a gear service center. (Gear Junkie)
