- Air quality plan hits snag. A plan to reduce regional ozone pollution would require cleaner-burning fuel, but advocates say the plan doesn't go far enough. (CBS4)
- Boulder Valley School District bond issue ballot measure moving forward for a November vote. The Boulder Valley School Board will vote on Aug. 9 on ballot language and a more detailed list of projects that will be included in the $350 million capital construction bond issue that is planned for this November's ballot. (Hometown Weekly)
- The FBI is still searching for Boulder murder suspect after 39 years. The killer of Sid Wells, who would have been a 22-year-old senior year at CU Boulder in 1983 and the boyfriend of Robert Redford's daughter, has never been found. (9News)
- Town of Vail blocks all permits for housing project. The move by the town sets the stage for a protracted legal battle. Vail Resorts had planned to develop a project to house workers on the property by the 2023-24 season, but the town pushed back because the land is part of a local group of animals. (CO SUN)
- Regional food banks see increased demand, and fewer donations. Area food banks are seeing a record number of families seeking assistance, and most of the food center's shelves are bare, with donations dropping to a trickle. (FOX31)
