Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Boulder

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Boulder.

BOULDER, CO — The National Weather Service has issued a weather alert for Boulder and the metro Denver area. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from 6 p.m. Thursday evening until Friday at midnight.

Up to six inches of snow is expected to fall over the next 48 hours, weather officials said.

Boulder residents can expect a "prolonged period of heavy snow and strong winds in the north central mountains late tonight through Friday night," the alert read. "Narrow bands of moderate to heavy snowfall [are] expected to set up over parts of the I-25 Corridor and adjacent plains starting this evening and continuing into Friday."

The agency urged drivers to slow down and use caution while traveling.

"Plan on slippery road conditions," the alert read. "The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute."
