Winter Weather Advisory Issued For West Metro Denver, Boulder

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Boulder and Denver's western metro area.

The National Weather Service has issued a weather alert for Boulder, Longmont, Arvada, Lakewood and Golden. A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 3 a.m. until noon Tuesday.

Up to four inches of snow could fall in some regions Tuesday morning, weather officials said.

"Plan on slippery road conditions," the alert read. "The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous."

Most of the snowfall will occur between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m., weather officials said.

"Travelers should be prepared for winter travel conditions and a slow, slippery commute Tuesday morning, especially in the western and southwestern metro areas where upslope flow will enhance snow amounts," the alert read.
