Woman Found Dead In Boulder Drainage Ditch Identified: Report

BOULDER, CO — A woman found dead in a drainage canal off Valmont Road Friday was identified by officials as a Denver woman who went missing from an assisted living facility two weeks ago, according to a report.

Raquel Perkes, 36, was reported missing Aug. 18 from Mesa Vista in Boulder, located at 2121 Mesa Dr. A crew was cleaning the canal in the 5000 block of Valmont Road on Aug. 30 when Perkes’ body was found partially submerged just after 10 a.m., according to the Boulder Police Department.

Boulder County officials told the Daily Camera they do not suspect foul play in the death; however, an autopsy and investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
