  1. Three individuals arrested in woman's death. Alexis Baca was visiting Boulder from Las Cruces, NM. On Sunday, July 24, her body was found near the Realization Point Trailhead. Boulder Sheriff deputies, with the help of the FBI and Las Cruces Police, have traced the perpetrators of the murder back to her hometown and have arrested three suspects, and are still searching for a fourth person believed to be involved in the crime.   2. Colorado business accelerator aimed at helping build up Latino companies. The Latino Leadership Institute is launching a business accelerator serving Latino and other BIPOC entrepreneurs in Colorado. (CPR)
  3. Bear searching for food in Niwot relocated. Colorado Parks and Wildlife successfully relocated a bear on Saturday after receiving multiple reports of a bear that was helping itself to trash and raiding bird feeders. (FOX31)
  4. A squirrel electrocuted by an electric fence causes a small wildfire near Horsetooth Reservoir. After extinguishing the small grass fire, the Poudre Fire Authority investigators determined that an electrocuted squirrel ignited the fire west of Fort Collins. (Patch)
  5. Edie Hooton drops out of her re-election bid in District 10 race. The Colorado House Representative was pursuing her fourth term in the Colorado House, and she has made the decision that it was time to spend more time with her family "and pursue personal interests." (Boulder Beat)

  • Art exhibit at BMOCA is both beautiful, and ugly at the same time. The creatures in the "Grossly Affectionate" exhibit at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary is both warm and fuzzy, and at the same time challenges how we understand and relate to each other. (Get About)
