Worthy Cause: Boulder Co. Non-Profit 2019 Grants Available

Since 2000, Boulder County voters have approved a .05 cent sales tax for capital projects for human services non-profits in the county.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO – Worthy Cause, the Boulder County .05 percent sales tax fund for nonprofit human service agencies, is now accepting applications for capital projects funding, the county announced.

The Worthy Cause Request for Funding application for 2019 pool funding is available on the Boulder County website at http://bit.ly/WCfunding. The deadline is 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 17, 2018. Late applications will not be accepted.

During the 2017 General Election, Boulder County voters approved an extension of the .05 percent Worthy Cause sales tax with 79 percent of the vote. Since 2000, Boulder County voters have agreed to put a half-cent on the dollar sales tax to help human service agencies with capital projects such as buying land or buildings, construction or renovation or debt reduction. Agencies must match 50 percent of the grants.

In the past 10 years, the fund has supported 42 agencies with $19.3 million, donating to agencies that address early childhood learning, family support services, basic needs services such as food, clothing, housing and shelter, domestic violence and healthcare.
