Broomfield Police Collecting School Supplies For Kids In Need

The department has teamed up with A Precious Child.

BROOMFIELD, CO — The Broomfield Police Department will be out on Saturday collecting school supplies for students. The department is working with the nonprofit A Precious Child to help kids in need.

Police will be out at the Broomfield Walmart on 121st Ave from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. collecting backpacks and school supplies for Colorado children in need.

"Hope to see you there!" the department said in a Facebook post.

Donations will be accepted for A Precious Child's Fill A Backpack program, which offers backpacks filled with school supplies to disadvantaged and displaced children.

On average, it costs $50 to help a child start the school year with the tools they need to succeed, the organization said.
