Police are working with First National Bank to encourage residents to fight fraud.

BROOMFIELD, CO — The Broomfield Police Department is encouraging residents to come out for the 10th Annual Community Shred Day. The department is partnering with First National Bank to hold the event, which will collect school supplies and cash donations for the nonprofit A Precious Child.

The Community Shred Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 8, at 12009 Sheridan Blvd.

Bank statements, pay stubs, credit card information, tax returns and other documents that contain personal information should always be shredded to avoid fraud and identity theft, police said.
