Get An Inside View Of Broomfield Police Dept. In 15-Week Academy
Ordinary citizens, teens and people considering a career in law enforcement are invited to participate in "Inside BPD" over 15 weeks in 2018

BROOMFIELD, CO -- Considering a career in law enforcement? Curious about how police departments operate? The Broomfield Police Dept. will host a citizens' "Inside BPD" academy over 15 weeks, to show the inner workings of the local police department, starting in March. The purpose of the class is to give citizens a better understanding about law enforcement and how police officers work with the community.
The course is divided into three five-consecutive week blocks of evening classes on Wednesday nights. The first block will cover patrol and communications between Mar 7- April 4. The second round of classes covers investigations, special operations and specialized teams between May 2-30. The third block of classes will cover detention, training and emergency management starting Aug. 22 - Sep. 19.
Sign up for the classes on the Broomfield city website here. Participants must be over age 16 and pass a background check. The deadline to register is Feb. 21.
