BROOMFIELD, CO — A young moose who was seen in Broomfield Sunday has been relocated, authorities said. The moose was spotted near the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, then on Monday he was found in Westminster. The moose was seen near Edgeview Drive in Broomfield, and then "wandered away and settled down for the night," Broomfield police said. The Colorado QuitLine offers up to $100 incentive to help adults across the state quit tobacco and nicotine products. The <a href="https://www.coloradoquits.com/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Colorado QuitLine</a>&nbsp;is offering Coloradans ages 18 and older the opportunity to earn up to $100 for completing a coaching series designed to help them quit tobacco and nicotine products for good. Research indicates that people who attempt to quit tobacco and nicotine products with support from programs like the free Colorado QuitLine are five times more likely to succeed than those who quit without support.&nbsp; Participants receive personalized coaching support and free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), including patches, gum, and lozenges. Services are available online at <a href="http://coloradoquits.com/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">ColoradoQuits.com</a>&nbsp;or by calling 1-800-QUIT-NOW. Online enrollment takes just a few minutes, and participants can receive coaching via chat or by phone. &ldquo;Quitting nicotine is hard, but people are far more likely to succeed when they have coaching and proven tools to support them,&rdquo; said Jill Hunsaker Ryan, executive director of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. &ldquo;The Colorado QuitLine provides free support to anyone using any form of tobacco or nicotine products, including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, oral nicotine pouches, and smokeless tobacco.&rdquo; 
According to the <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NcybOmCt3HA0Z5EPPrYAAmrsFV9EQBYReHWCMBk7TC4/edit?gid=0#gid=0" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">2024 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS)</a>, current smoking among Colorado adults is below 10% for the first time in the&nbsp;state&rsquo;s recorded history. However, the same survey shows that vaping rates have increased significantly since 2017, with use increasingly concentrated among 18 to 34-year-olds and among adults who were not smoking before they started vaping.
While quitting &ldquo;cold turkey&rdquo; has a success rate of just 4-7% according to the <a href="https://stacks.cdc.gov/view/cdc/6964" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Centers for Disease Control and Prevention</a>, several research studies confirm that combining medication and behavioral support significantly increases quitting success rates.
To encourage engagement and completion of coaching support, adult participants can earn up to $100 for completing five phone-based coaching calls:
<li>$10 for call one.&nbsp;</li><li>$15 for call two.</li><li>$25 for call three.&nbsp;</li><li>$25 for call four.</li><li>$25 for call five.</li>QuitLine coaches are trained, non-judgmental professionals who provide confidential help with understanding cravings, triggers, and overcoming challenges and help create a personalized approach for quitting nicotine and tobacco.&nbsp;For youth ages 12-17, the <a href="http://www.mylifemyquit.org/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">My Life, My Quit</a>&nbsp;program offers free and confidential support tailored specifically for teens in Colorado to quit nicotine and tobacco products. Youth can sign up at <a href="http://www.mylifemyquit.org/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">MyLifeMyQuit.org</a>&nbsp;or by downloading the app.# # #
