Woman Thrown From SUV In Fatal Broomfield 1-Car Accident

A 33-year-old driver appeared to have been ejected from a Chevy Trailblazer found by Broomfield police off-road in a ditch.

BROOMFIELD, CO -- Broomfield police reported a woman was pronounced dead after a one-car accident Wednesday morning. Around 2:45 a.m., Broomfield patrol officers found a Chevy Trailblazer off-road in a ditch near Northwest and Sheridan Parkways, police said.

The body of a 33-year old woman was found about 20 feet from the car. Officers determined that she had been thrown from the car during the crash, police said. North Metro Fire Rescue emergency responders determined the woman had died.

Police shut down westbound lanes of the Northwest Parkway for two hours early Wednesday morning.

The Adams County Coroner will release the name of the woman when family members have been contacted, police said.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined and the case is under investigation, police said.
