Here are the top three stories today in Colorado Springs:

  1. Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers has announced a $2.7 million effort to address the city's litter problem. The money will be used to purchase additional street sweepers, vacuum trucks, and new staff. Efforts will be primarily focused on the medians of highly traveled corridors within the city, such as Powers Boulevard and U.S. Highway 24. (Colorado Springs Gazette)
  2. The trial of a Colorado Springs massage parlor owner began on Monday. Xinan Xia has been accused of operating Rose Spa as an illicit massage parlor. Xia pleaded not guilty to the charges back in April 2021 after a May 2020 investigation into his establishment by the Colorado Springs Police Department. (KRDO)
  3. The Colorado Springs Police Department Falcon Substation will be closed until Apr. 27 due to ongoing construction. The community can still contact the substation but in-person assistance will have to be rerouted to other department locations. The Falcon Substation is located on Goddard Street.
