2 Arrested For Alleged Colo. Springs Halloween Armed Robberies
Police say suspects in an SUV displayed a handgun, allegedly demanding a cell phone and stealing a woman's purse filled with candy.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- Halloween got a little more scary in Colorado Springs Tuesday, where police said two men, aged 18 and 17, used trick-or-treating time to attempt armed robberies. Officers reported the first incident occurred around 6:20 p.m. in the 6300 block of Galway Drive. The two alleged suspects pulled up in a silver SUV, allegedly displayed and handgun and demanded a cell phone from a man who was walking on the sidewalk. The victim refused to hand over his phone and the suspects drove away, police said.
At 8:08 p.m., police say the same suspects allegedly stopped a woman at gunpoint near South Murray Boulevard and Sandpiper Drive. They took her purse full of Halloween candy, police said.
Patrol officers pulled over an SUV matching the description and detained two adult males and two juvenile males. Officers recovered a gun thrown from the SUV, which matched the description of the one used in the robberies. The victim's purse from the second robbery was recovered from inside the vehicle.
