Application Process Now Open For New Police Accountability Advisory Committee In City Of Colorado Springs

Council will take public comment and finalize establishment of the new committee at the Regular City Council meeting on June 23.

The Colorado Springs City Council is seeking volunteers to serve on a new Police Accountability Advisory Committee, applications are now being accepted. Find the application here (link is external). Applicants need to select “Police Accountability Advisory Committee” on the application to be considered.

The public can also access the application process from the webpage for the new committee.

At a Special Work Session yesterday, City Council directed staff to move forward with creating the application process to form the new advisory committee tasked with bringing policy recommendations to City Council, the Mayor and the Colorado Springs Police Department.

At the regularly scheduled City Council Work Session on Monday, June 22, Council will discuss the purpose and structure of the new committee, including how many members from the public will serve, governing language and mission. Council will take public comment and finalize establishment of the new committee at the Regular City Council meeting on June 23.
