Happy Tuesday, Colorado Springs! Here's everything you need to know about what's happening today.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny and warm. High: 68 Low: 30.

Here are the top stories today in Colorado Springs:

  1. The Colorado Springs Fire and Police departments responded to a deadly fire at the Enfield Apartments, near the intersection of Fillmore Street and Hancock Avenue, on Nov. 8.
A week later, the El Paso County courthouse released more information about 20-year-old Trey Dove, who was arrested that day and charged with first-degree murder and first-degree arson – for intentionally starting the fire. During questioning, Dove told officers he'd started the fire in his apartment using the burners on his stove. Officers took note of several "bizarre" statements, including an ability to "communicate directly with God." Dove also said he believed he was an alien and "possessed by victims of the Holocaust."(FOX21News.com)
  2. The fifth annual State of Recycling report was released Monday, and it finds that Colorado's rate is "abysmal and stagnant" and ranks among the 20 worst states in the nation. The report comes from two organizations, Eco-Cycle and the Colorado Public Interest Research Group (CoPIRG). Colorado Springs wasn't specifically mentioned in the report because officials said that the city, and other areas of southern Colorado, either don't track recycling dates or don't provide information to them. (KRDO)
  3. A Colorado Springs couple is being honored by the state for adopting seven children through foster care, but this family has helped dozens more. (KOAA.com)
  4. He goes by the name of Dennisaurus Rex, or Dennis for short, but this seven-month-old Emu has been getting a lot of attention on social media after being spotted walking around Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, and Old Colorado City. (KRDO)
  5. Don't be alarmed if you hear gunshots, loud booms, and other ruckus in the area of Colorado Springs' Space Force bases this week. (KKTV 11 News)
