Good morning, Colorado Springs! Here's everything you need to know to get this Tuesday started off right.
First, today's weather:
Cooler with afternoon showers. High: 55 Low: 28.
Here are the top three stories today in Colorado Springs:
- A new home built by the Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity (PPHFH) marked a new milestone: the organization's first Interfaith Build for Unity — and only the 20th across the whole country. The Interfaith Build for Unity is designed to bring together volunteers from different backgrounds and faiths while working on a common project. PPHFH plans to begin its second Build for Unity this year; if you're interested in participating, click here to find out more. (FOX21News.com)
- Colorado Springs is among the top 10 best-performing cities in the United States, according to a new report released by the Milken Institute. The core elements factoring into the 2022 Milken Institute Best Performing Cities Index were job creation, wage growth, and production growth; housing affordability and broadband access were also included as much of the country shifted to remote work. The Colorado Springs metro area reached number 9 on the top 10 list. (Colorado Springs Patch)
- While Colorado Springs' gorgeous views make it a perfect place for hiking enthusiasts, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the area without hitting the trails. Those looking for fresh air without the steep inclines can enjoy the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs or head to the partially enclosed Manitou Springs Penny Arcade just outside the city. Other highlights include Magic Town, a tiny world featuring miniature sculptures and landscapes, and Glen Eyrie Castle, a unique venue offering tea and tours.
