  1. Bridge girders will be placed on the Platte Avenue over Sand Creek bridge project. The Girders are seen as the final part of the third phase of the bridge replacement. The installation is set to be on Feb. 7 but is dependent on weather and resources. (Press Release Desk)
  2. The Colorado Springs Police Department's Challenge To Change initiative seeks to bring awareness to social media's negative impact on local youth. The initiative included resources for parents and a seven-day social media blackout challenge for youth. Challenge to Change is a joint effort with input from Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers, School Districts 2 and 11, Children's Hospital Colorado, and the Colorado Springs Police Department.   3. During the severe winter weather Colorado Springs has been experiencing lately, the Humane Society of Pikes Peak offers tips to keep your pets safe and warm. The Humane Society of Pikes Peak services the Colorado Springs area. The Humane Society says that if it is too cold for you outside, it is likely too cold for your pets. The Society urges citizens to provide waterproof shelters that are raised off of the ground for their outside animals if they must stay outside. (KKTV 11 News)
