Colo. Springs Double Homicide: Husband And Wife Killed In Home

Larry and Pamela Nelson were found dead in their rural El Paso County home Saturday night, the El Paso Sheriff's Office said.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- Two people found dead Saturday in an El Paso County home were identified by the sheriff's office Wednesday. The bodies of husband and wife Larry Nelson, 72, and Pamela Nelson, 70 were found by deputies on a welfare check call around 1:52 a.m. in the 13500 block of Hobby Horse Lane in rural El Paso County southeast of Colorado Springs. The nearest neighbor is about a mile away.

The sheriff's statement did not specify the manner-of-death of either person.

"We would like to express our deepest condolences to their family and friends," the sheriff's statement said.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating this case as a double homicide, a statement from the sheriff's office said.

More information will be released as the investigations allows, the sheriff's statement said. No suspects have been identified.
