The Springs metro area grew by 50,000 people between 2011-2015, and 3/4 of them came from another state, the U.S. Census data shows

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- Demographers say Colorado Springs area is booming. More than 50,000 new people have moved to the Springs metro-area (both El Paso County and Teller County) in recent years.
A new study by Austin-based moving company SpareFoot, tracks where those newcomers are hailing from.
"A total of 56,989 people moved to El Paso county between 2011 and 2015, according to a census study.
That same study also answers the question of where all those people are coming from, and it turns out the vast majority are coming from outside Colorado. More than three quarters (78 percent, 44,367 people) came from outside Colorado, and only 22 percent (12,622) moved from other places within Colorado."
