UPDATE: Colorado Springs Police Investigate Suspicious Death Of Woman

On October 21, 2019, the El Paso County Coroner completed an autopsy on the deceased female located in a residence in the 6000 Block of Bow River drive. The deceased party has been identified as 39 year old Jennifer Young of Colorado Springs, and the manner of her death was determined to be a homicide.

The spouse of the victim, 42 year old Fredrick Young of Colorado Springs, has been arrested as part of this investigation and booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on charges of First Degree Murder.

Mrs. Young’s death is the 19th homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs in 2019. At this time last year, there had been 26 homicides in the city.

Original Release

On October 20, 2019 at approximately 4:28PM, Officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) were informed of a deceased party at an address in the 6000 Block of Bow River Drive. Officers responded and made entry into the residence, where they located a deceased female.

Detectives from CSPD’s Homicide/Assault Unit responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation. While the El Paso County Coroner conducts an examination to make the final determination of the cause and manner of death, this case is being investigated as a homicide and continues to be an active investigation. There is not believed to be any danger to the public.
