On Saturday, October 26, 2019 at approximately 6:43 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a traffic crash involving a pedestrian and a Ford F250 on the bridge in the 200 Block of West Cimarron St. Responding officers contacted the driver of the pickup truck and located the pedestrian who was deceased at the scene. The Major Crash Team was called to the scene to assume the investigation.

It was determined that the Ford pickup truck was travelling eastbound in the 200 Block of Cimarron Street approaching the Cimarron Bridge, when the female pedestrian, who was standing on the center median , attempted to walk southbound across Eastbound Cimarron Street, when she was struck by the Ford truck. The pedestrian died on scene.
This is the 37th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs. At this time in 2018, there had been 42 traffic fatalities.
