Colorado Springs Rockrimmon Reconstruction Phase 1 Nears Completion

Crews are putting the final touches on Rockrimmon Blvd between Vindicator and Pro Rodeo Drive. Public Works is expected to complete the final concrete work and striping in the next few weeks.

The extensive project replaced the crumbling roadway, addressed drainage issues, and improved pedestrian walkways through curb and gutter improvements. Because of poor conditions under the roadway, crews excavated all the way down to the ground, replace the bad soil, and then completely rebuild the road. Traffic Engineering is putting in a new signal at the intersection of Fence Post and Rockrimmon.

We know it’s been a long wait for folks living in and commuting to the area, and we appreciate your patience.

Next week crews will start on the second phase of the project from Pro Rodeo Drive to I-25.
