Colorado Springs Student Killed In Phoenix Hit-And-Run

Taylor White, 21, of Grand Canyon University, was to be married in two weeks, but was killed while jogging Sunday, Phoenix police said.

PHOENIX, AZ – A 21-year-old student from Colorado Springs was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run accident in Phoenix Sunday night. Taylor White was killed while jogging with a friend near Grand Canyon University, where both students attended, Phoenix police said.

White was struck in the crosswalk at North 31st Avenue and West Camelback Road, police said. The joggers had the green light.

Police are seeking the driver of a white SUV, possibly a Ford or Lincoln, that drove around other vehicles waiting for the light to change.

White was engaged to be married in two weeks to his fiancee, who is also a student at the campus. His younger brother also attends the university.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Taylor White," the school says. "As a close-knit community of students, faculty and staff, please keep White's family and friends in your hearts during this tragic time."

Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information about the accident.
