Colorado Springs Trump Rally: Times, Traffic, School Dismissals
Here's the information needed to attend, or avoid the traffic around, President Donald Trump's rally in Colorado Springs on Thursday.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — President Donald Trump is visiting Colorado Springs on Thursday to hold a rally, and local law enforcement are reminding people that the visit will lead to road closures, delays and certain schools to be let out early.
The rally is scheduled for 5 p.m. (7 p.m. ET) Thursday in the Broadmoor World Arena, 3185 Venetucci Blvd. The Colorado Springs event comes one day after Trump rallied in Phoenix, and he is scheduled to hold a third rally Friday in Las Vegas.

Road Closures
Trump is expected to arrive Thursday afternoon at Peterson Air Force Base. While the president's travel route is not announced in advance, Colorado Springs police have issued a warning to the public about expected delays.

"With the rally taking place in town today, Colorado Springs drivers should give themselves plenty of time while traveling, as exceptionally heavy traffic and delays are expected around the World Arena," the police department wrote on its official Facebook page. "That includes both directions of I-25."
Early School Dismissals
- Harrison District 2 schools are dismissing students between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to account for the road closures expected to take place around the same time.
- James Irwin Charter Schools are also expected to close early.
Parking
The parking lot at the Broadmoor World Arena opened at 6 a.m. Thursday; however, Colorado Springs police announced that it reached its full capacity around 9:30 a.m. According to the event's official page, cars will be turned away when the parking lot fills.
Tickets
Tickets for the event are made available on a first-come, first-served basis, and you can register for a ticket at DonaldJTrump.com. The Broadmoor World Arena holds just over 8,000 people, according to its website.
Hundreds of people with tents and sleeping bags lined up in freezing temperatures more than 24 hours before the event to get one of the free tickets for the rally. The Trump Campaign will direct all ticket holders to their seats once inside the arena.
Should the Broadmoor World Arena reach its maximum capacity, an outdoor screen will be provided.

The Broadmoor World Arena prohibits the following items:
- Any outside food or beverage
- Alcoholic beverages
- Marijuana (legal or medical)
- Illegal or illicit drugs
- Drones
- Flag/sign supports
- Glass bottles or aluminum cans
- Coolers
- Thermos containers
- Bota bags or wine skins
- Bullhorns/whistles
- Laser pointers/pens
- Framed backpacks
- Confetti
- Beach balls
- Skateboards or rollerblades
- Stools or folding chairs
- Water bottles or mugs
- Pets or animals (with the exception of service animals)
- Selfie sticks
- Tools
Guests are prohibited from bringing any weapons on the grounds. Guests with concealed weapons permits are still prohibited from bringing any weapons onto the grounds or into the venue.
