🌱 Daycare Owner Sentenced + Two Organizations Fight Trafficking

Here are the top stories in Colorado Springs today:

  1. Carla Faith, the Colorado Springs daycare owner who was arrested after police found dozens of children hidden behind a false wall in a basement, has been sentenced to six years in prison. Faith, the owner of Play Mountain Place, faced 26 counts of child abuse, one count of attempting to influence a peace officer, and three counts of operating a daycare without a license. She was found guilty on all charges in August. Faith was sentenced during a hearing Thursday in Colorado Springs. (KRDO)
  2. 11 News recently spoke to representatives from two Colorado Springs organizations that are dedicated to battling back against the horrendous practice of human trafficking. Exodus Road recently launched a free online program you can sign up for, that teaches you how to identify potential trafficking in your community, with an online course that guides you through training, intervention, and aftercare support. Another Colorado Springs organization, Reclaiming Hope, works to educate people on the recovery process when victims are rescued from human trafficking. Reclaiming Hope recently rebranded their organization after going by Restore Innocence for several years. (KKTV 11 News)
  3. Police arrested a man who had four felony warrants for his arrest which included kidnapping, domestic violence, and motor vehicle theft after officers and K-9′s set up a perimeter around the field he was hiding in. (KKTV 11 News)
  4. Two Colorado Springs families are pushing for change when it comes to isolation in hospitals. With restrictions for medical centers, some loved ones aren't able to say goodbye in person to patients. (FOX21News.com)
