Here are the top stories in Colorado Springs today:

1. Thanks to DNA technology, police were able to arrest a suspect in the 2020 murder of a Colorado Springs woman. On October 2, 2020, a man purposely ran over and killed 37-year-old Chasta Rogers. Last Monday, officers with the Fountain Police Department found and arrested 44-year-old Jeremy Dewayne Jones, who has been charged with the first-degree murder of Rogers. Detectives used DNA from a wristwatch left at the scene to help identify the suspect. (KRDO)
2. A beloved community tradition continues in Colorado Springs as the Venetucci Farm pumpkin patch returned on Saturday. The pumpkin patch will be open Saturdays in October from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the exception of Oct. 9 due to a private event taking place. In keeping with tradition, pumpkins will be offered free to children age 8 and younger. The venue's weekly events will also feature a craft fair, concessions, games, and outdoor activities.
