'Dog Patch' Memory Project Starts In Pueblo
Photos of Eastwood Heights neighborhood sought by Pueblo Museum for community exhibit.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - From El Pueblo History Museum: El Pueblo History Museum will host a photo collection day as part of the Dog Patch Memory Project on Saturday, February 24, at Eva Baca Elementary, 2800 E 17th St. The scanning day will be led by Felicia Tapia and José Ortega.
The Dog Patch Memory Project is a community-based public history project that will document the stories of the Dog Patch, or Eastwood Heights, neighborhood in Pueblo, Colorado. For this collection day, current and former residents of Dog Patch can bring images of the neighborhood to be digitally scanned and preserved. Participants are welcome to bring photos of family, friends, and events, as well as documents that may help tell the stories of Dog Patch. There will also be an opportunity to record memories for the oral history portion of the project. Museum quality image files can be provided to participants upon request. The images collected during this session and over the coming months will become part of a future exhibit at El Pueblo History Museum.
The scanning day is free and open to current and former residents of Dog Patch and their family members. Scanning will be available from 10 am - 1 pm, with no reservations needed. Refreshments will be provided. For more information, call 583-0453.
