Hello, neighbors! It's me again, Danielle Fallon, your host of the Colorado Springs Daily.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny; breezy, cooler. High: 59 Low: 42.

Here are the top three stories today in Colorado Springs:

  1. The Colorado Springs Fire Department battled a fast-moving grass fire near East Las Vegas Street. The fire reportedly started Friday afternoon and was contained around 4 p.m. The department reports that several units were dispatched to battle the blaze. The department stated on its Twitter account that the area burned was less than one acre. (FOX21News.com)
  2. Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity is hosting a donation drive in celebration of Earth Day. The event will be on Apr. 22 with donations being accepted at the two Colorado Springs ReStores. Last year, the organization was able to save roughly 1,500 tons of material from local landfills and hopes to accomplish the feat again this year. (KRDO)
  3. Springs Rescue Mission hosted hundreds during an early Easter dinner on Friday. The event was reportedly held early so mission workers could celebrate Easter with their families. The mission will still be open during the holiday weekend, however. Click the link to learn how to donate or volunteer with Springs Rescue Mission. (KKTV)
