Here are the top three stories today in Colorado Springs:

  1. As of Mar. 31, the state of Colorado has transitioned its COVID-19 vaccine distribution from state-run community sites to traditional healthcare settings. El Paso County has lost two free vaccine sites at the Citadel Mall and Chapel Hills Mall in this transition. Approximately 65 percent of the county's eligible population is fully vaccinated, according to the latest information from the El Paso County Public Health's vaccine database. (KRDO)
  2. Calling lovers of all things space, science, and technology: the Space Foundation Discovery Center is celebrating its 10th anniversary and the 37th Annual Symposium with two community events. Tomorrow (Apr. 3), guests aged 21+ can attend the Celebration of Space: Discover What's Next; tickets are $70 in advance and $85 at the door. On Wednesday, Apr. 6, the museum is also kicking off its first-ever Family Symposium; the event is free and open to all. (FOX21News.com)
  3. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is showing its support for survivors of sexual assault with a new patch. For the duration of April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, CSPD vehicles will have a teal patch displayed to remind survivors they are not alone — and can come forward if and when they feel ready. "We as law enforcement are here to take a victim-centered approach to these crimes for you," said Sgt. Scott Schneider. "[We don't] focus on what led to it, but that suspect's actions and behavior made you that victim." Anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault can contact the CSPD at (719) 444-7000.
