Fire Rips Through Colorado Springs Neighborhood

Three injured in a fast-moving fire that destroyed several condos in southeast Colorado Springs.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- A fast-moving fire at a Colorado Springs townhouse complex destroyed several residences Monday in southeast Colorado Springs. Three people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, but their injuries were not life-threatening, the Colorado Springs Fire Department said.

Several closely built condo residences were significantly burned near Astrozon Boulevard and Jet Wing Drive in a 3-alarm blaze. With dry conditions causing a high fire danger, and gusting winds, the fire moved quickly the Colorado Springs Fire Department said.

Evacuated residents were asked to go to a meeting point at First Pentecostal Church at 2950 Monica Drive West, the Fire Department said.
