- El Paso County confirmed its first omicron case. This person was vaccinated and boosted, and while he did experience a breakthrough case, his symptoms were mild. El Paso County Public Health is underscoring the importance of COVID vaccines in the face of what is looking to be the most contagious variant yet. (KKTV 11 News)
- One hundred Colorado Springs customers remain without power after last week's wind storm. At the storm's height, almost 48,000 customers lost power, and the Colorado Springs Utilities are working tirelessly to restore power for the remaining 100. (KKTV 11 News)
- A Colorado Springs astrophotographer is encouraging other women to "reach for the stars." Kara Marcus, a deep-space photographer who targets locations far beyond our solar system, has quickly become a standout in the mostly male-dominated field of astrophotography. "I think it's a good example for anybody interested in imaging to see someone in this position doing it as a woman," Marcus said. (Denver ABC 7)
