Man Arrested In Colorado Springs Fatal Shooting

Arquinn Deandre Stafford, 36, was charged with the first-degree murder of 30-year-old Benjamin Lee Sharkey.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- Colorado Springs police announced Tuesday that an arrest had been made in connection with a fatal shooting. The CSPD Facebook page said that Arquinn Deandre Stafford, 36, was arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of 30-year-old Benjamin Lee Sharkey.

Sharkey was found Jan. 7 around 7:20 p.m. with a gunshot wound in the 100 block of West Motor Way, Springs police said on Facebook. Colorado Springs Fire Dept. attempted life saving measures, but were unsuccessful and Sharkey was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the Violent Crime Homicide /Assault Unit and Tactical Enforcement Unit arrested Stafford on Jan. 30.

Police did not release a photo of Stafford. The investigation is ongoing.
