- A man from Colorado Springs was arrested for first-degree murder after police say he allegedly killed his wife. The Colorado Springs Police Department says Masany Cruz, 29, was found dead on Oct. 4 after a welfare check near 2600 Grand Vista Circle. El Paso County got an arrest warrant for William Cruz, Jr., 31, for a first-degree murder charge on Oct. 12, and he was arrested yesterday in New York. (KRDO)
- After the performance season was cut short last year by COVID, THEATREdART is back to officially mark the start of the spooky season — and bring haunted history lessons to the city. "Ghost Stories of Old Manitou", produced in partnership with Manitou Springs Heritage Center, spotlights local actors, local playwrights, and local history in an immersive, interactive outdoor experience. The performance will go through Oct. 29. (Colorado Springs Independent)
- Colorado Springs native, DJ Washington, will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for most hair braided in 24 hours on Oct. 17. (FOX21News.com)
- The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region stated they responded to more than 500 calls last winter of animals outside in the cold. The organization gave some important reminders for pet owners as we enter winter in Colorado Springs. (KKTV 11 News)
