Here are the top stories today in Colorado Springs:

  1. A Colorado Springs man is in the hospital after he says an encounter at a dog park turned violent. Edward Ayala-Barrera and his wife took their two dogs to Bear Creek Dog Park on Nov. 30. He says another dog got loose, and when he tried to stop it from biting one of his pets, the owner reportedly attacked him. He's been told his leg is broken, shattered to pieces. The couple had just moved to Colorado Springs and were working on getting settled in. Now, they say they are also left with a mountain of medical bills — plus, a suspect still out there. 2. A new market hit the east side of downtown Colorado Springs Saturday in hopes of highlighting some of the smallest small businesses in the area. 1350 Distilling and Mash Mechanix Brewing Co hosted the annual "Christkindl Market."During the market, food trucks, artists, vendors and local craft businesses joined forces for a holiday gift market. Not only was the event a way for customers to shop local, it was also a way for the entrepreneurs to support each other. (FOX21News.com)
