- El Paso County Public Health has launched its mobile outreach van in an attempt to increase access to COVID-19 vaccines at convenient locations across the county. The mobile outreach van administered nearly 60 vaccines to eligible individuals across two events, in addition to providing education and answering questions. The mobile van will be able to administer COVID-19 vaccines, flu shots, routine back-to-school immunizations and more at businesses, worksites, schools, community events, and houses of worship. - Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity celebrated the grand opening of the second Habitat ReStore in El Paso County on Saturday. The Habitat ReStore is a home improvement store and resale center that sells donated furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Habitat for Humanity uses funds raised by its ReStores to help more families build, rehabilitate, and repair their homes. (KRDO)
- Agencies that help the homeless are scrambling to fill a gaping hole in critical services after the July closure of Colorado Springs' only respite care facility for discharged homeless hospital patients.
