COLORADO SPRINGS — Two healthy twins — a baby boy and girl — lost their mother after she suffered complications while giving birth last week at a hospital in Colorado Springs. The twins' father, Dustin Sisneros, lost his longtime love.

Sara Sewald, 26, died of preeclampsia after giving birth to Ryan and Charlotte. Sewald went into surgery after excess bleeding following a C-section. Preeclampsia is a pregnancy condition that's characterized by high blood pressure, hypertension and often damage to organs.

Sewald and Sisneros had been dating for three and a half years and were excited when they found out they were going to be parents, their friends said.

A GoFundMe page has been launched for Sisneros and the twins, which friends said surpassed its goal of $10,000 in less than a day. In just four days, the page raised more than $32,000. Sisneros thanked all the donors in an update.

"This is just absolutely blowing my mind. I can not even begin to thank you all enough," Sisneros said. "This is just beyond amazing."

He said all the money raised will go to Ryan and Charlotte.

"I am more than OK to work and do what I need to do to have money in my pocket for myself and my family, but every single cent will go to my babies. They deserve the world. "

Sisneros said he'll never stop telling the twins about their mother.
