Here are the top stories in Colorado Springs today:
- A new reservoir project shared by Colorado Springs, Fountain, Pueblo, Pueblo West, Aurora, and Southeastern Enterprise was approved on Tuesday by city leaders. The six partners will share the $2.8 million cost of the 641-acre reservoir site — with Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Aurora each using 28.5% of the water and thereby paying higher shares of the cost. Officials said that because of the permitting process and other requirements, the reservoir likely won't be ready until 2030 at the earliest. (KRDO)
- Amazon announced a plan on Tuesday to hire another 2,200 people in Colorado Springs. Amazon will be hiring to staff the newly opened fulfillment center, sorting center, and two new delivery stations in the area. Amazon already employs more than 2,500 people in the Colorado Springs area and more than 16,000 statewide in full- and part-time jobs. With the latest hiring, Amazon will be among the area's largest employers. (Colorado Springs Gazette)
- Colorado Springs Police says a 30-year-old man has been arrested after a late-night crime spree, including several carjackings and an assortment of other criminal activities. (KKTV 11 News)
- A pedestrian died from injuries suffered Saturday night after being run over by a pickup in a Colorado Springs parking lot. (Colorado Springs Gazette)
