One Dead In Officer-Involved Shooting In Colorado Springs: Police
A man is dead after CSPD officers exchanged gunfire with a suspect at a Palace Drive home. Officers rescued one person from the home.
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — One person is dead after Colorado Springs police exchanged gunfire with a suspect Wednesday night.
Police said officers were called to the 6900 block of Palace Drive on Wednesday at around 9:30 p.m. after someone called and reported a male suspect had fired at least one round into their home.
The male suspect was barricaded in a nearby home with a weapon, police said, and had another person in the home with him. The Tactical Enforcement Unit began talking to the suspect to de-escalate the situation, according to CSPD.

Officers rescued one person safely from the home during negotiations, police said.
At one point, the suspect fired at officers, according to the CSPD.

"As officers were attempting to talk with the suspect, the suspect fired at least one round at CSPD officers," police said. "At least one CSPD officer fired at least one round at the suspect."
Police entered the home and found an adult male dead "with an apparent gunshot wound."
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office will handle the investigation.
