Pedestrian Killed By Semi Crossing I-25 In Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- A pedestrian was struck by a semi truck Wednesday evening on southbound I-25 just north of the Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs police said. The incident occurred around 6:25 p.m. The southbound lanes were closed on the highway during the evening rush hour and police were diverting traffic.

Police did not say why the man was on the highway. Police said the man was crossing from west to east on the highway when he was struck by the semi and killed. Police pronounced him dead on the scene. They did not identify the man.

Police said they did not believe speed, drugs or alcohol were involved with the driver of the semi.
