Here are the top three stories in Colorado Springs today:
- Colorado Springs' Brookside & Nevada and Academy & Flintridge Starbucks locations have filed with the National Labor Relations Board to unionize. These two locations are joining more than one hundred other locations from around the country that have decided to unionize. Starbucks is a Seattle-based coffee company. (KRDO)
- The Colorado Springs Police Department has arrested Edward Tuma, 46, on suspicion of stealing several catalytic converters. Tuma was apprehended near the 300 block of Boulder Place. Officers were able to arrest Tuma without incident, according to officials with the department. (Colorado Springs Gazette)
- Pikes Peak Community College is seeking approval from the state to change its name. The community college wishes to be renamed Pikes Peak State College to better reflect the changing nature of community colleges, according to a written statement by college president Lance Bolton. The name change is through House Bill 1280. (BizWest)
