- More than 30 previously homeless veterans were gifted with free rent on a very special day. Volunteers of America Colorado and The Home Depot Foundation teamed up to pay tribute to the veterans Thursday. Volunteers of America Colorado helps veterans and all 64 Colorado counties, 365 days a year find housing. "We planned the celebration for Veterans Day to really honor and celebrate our vets here in Colorado Springs, and what a better way to say thank you than two months free rent?" says Vanessa Clark with Volunteers of America Colorado. - The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is adding another honor to its lofty list of achievements! The zoo has earned an incredibly rare clean report of inspection and a seventh consecutive five-year accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. In the world of zoos and aquariums, an AZA accreditation is the gold standard, and an honor currently only held by 241 of the 2,800 animal exhibitors licensed nationwide. (KKTV 11 News)
- The family of a woman who was shot and killed by a motorcyclist after a road rage incident is looking for answers. (KRDO)
- Commercial businesses are going to feel next week's utility increase, but residents will face a double whammy. Much of the increased costs will be passed on to customers through higher prices for food, drink, and other goods and products. (KRDO)
